I have always had an interest in how the body moves and love to restore people to their activities and help them to achieve their goals. I am passionate about helping mamas stay active, be pain free and feel in control of their body wherever they may be in their Motherhood journey. As a mother of two myself, I am so honored to be a part of the Rebirth team, a place which helped to support me during both of my pregnancies and post partum periods.

I completed my Masters of Physiotherapy at The University of Western Ontario and have completed further training in Acupuncture, Post natal fitness and of course Pelvic Physiotherapy. I look forward to connecting with each client and working together to achieve whatever the goal may be. Treatments may include manual therapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture and lots of education so you can feel empowered in your own rehab.

I always knew I wanted to be in health care, helping people, and when I discovered Chiropractic and  how it could be used to help the body heal from injury, function at a higher level and prevent future  ailments with a non-invasive, drug-free and hands-on approach,  I knew I had found the right  profession for me.  I first completed my Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree at McMaster University in 2002 and then attended the Candian Memorial Chiropractic College where I graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2006. Believing in the importance of ongoing education and wanting to be able to offer my patients the best care possible, I obtained my Certificate in Clinical Acupuncture from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2010 and have been trained in Active Release Technique.  I enjoy learning new ways of helping my patients and regularly participate in continuing education programs. I truly enjoy working with patients of all ages to achieve their health care goals.  Whether it be to resolve an injury, to improve movement or flexibility or simply feel one's best, Chiropractic may be able to help you and I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Dr. Andy Anderson, BSc(Hons), DC - Chiropractor

My purpose on this earth is to: 1. be a mother, and 2. be a healer. As it turns out, I found my passion by combining the two. Born and raised in London, I completed my undergraduate in biology and Latin at Western University. I then moved to Toronto to complete my doctorate in chiropractic medicine at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Now back in London, I currently live with my husband, son, and two puppers!

I became a chiropractic doctor in order to support the body's natural healing abilities with a drug-free, and holistic approach. I have extensive training in external pelvic floor therapy and abdominal rehabilitation. Furthermore, I am Webster certified, and trained in visceral manipulation, cranio-sacral therapy, Thompson technique, diversified, and Activator. I have also taken sooo many courses around tongue and lip tie bodywork, which makes up about 60% of my practice.

My passion for women’s health and birth work was sparked years ago when I was present for the amazing birth of my niece. After that, I trained as a Birth Doula and I have been supporting families throughout their pregnancy and birth ever since! My goal is to help close the gap on the motherhood standard of healthcare, and empower women to find the support they deserve. Mothers are the ultimate caretakers, and I’m here to take care of you!

Richelle Almeida-Knight, DC - Chiropractor

I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career that would help others, but it wasn’t until I began my journey into chiropractic medicine that I understood what that pursuit would look like for me. After earning my Bachelor of Science, I went on to receive my Doctor of Chiropractic which then lead to an expansive internship at NY Chiropractic College. These experiences allowed me to uncover the ‘why’ behind my passions - helping families navigate beautiful changes in their lives. Practicing chiropractic has been such a rewarding feeling that sometimes words fail to describe.

I am so fulfilled not only by helping women and their babies thrive, but also through educating them on their bodies and how they can grow stronger connections to them. I also find it imperative that women have a reliable, safe option that they can depend on to receive the gentle and informed treatments that they deserve. I am so grateful for the opportunity to make positive contributions to people’s lives that will hopefully leave lasting impressions on their total health and well-being.

I will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Central and Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Hyde Park. I am accepting new patients at this time and look forward to meeting you!

Alyssa Jarvis, Childbirth Educator / Birth and Postpartum Doula

rebirth_-46.jpg

After experiencing a difficult birth & post partum with my first child, I read everything I could to prepare my body and mind to heal through my second pregnancy. It was on this journey that I found my passion -supporting women and their families through the transition into parenthood.

Although I no longer actively doula, I am still very connected to the birth community. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to educate families while facilitating Rebirth's Childbirth Education Workshops. Sharing knowledge and experiences to both educate and empower women and their partners as they move into parenthood is something I love to do and an experience I am passionate about.

I believe that knowledge is power and support is key in so much of what we do on the mothering, parenting and family journey.  Acknowledging and celebrating the many differences in how we birth mother and father is central to our growth and well-being as a parent.

Danielle Revington, RSW (Registered Social Worker), Mother of 3

For the past 10 years I have provided counselling, treatment, and support to some of the strongest and most resilient people I have ever met. I’m still in awe of the vulnerability that people often bring to a counselling session. I truly admire the courage it takes to reach out and speak your truth. My passion is supporting women and mothers with their mental health and wellness.

I recognize the impact mental health can have in our lives; including the ability to mother, and to mother in a way that feeds our soul. I have personally experienced the heartache and strain that mental health can have on our ability to cope, function, and thrive in life. As a mother, I have learnt that if we prioritize our own mental health and wellness, it can positively impact our parenting and overall sense of self. They say it take’s a village to raise a child, but I believe it takes just as much love, compassion, patience, and encouragement to raise a mother. We all have our own limitations and personal struggles. I believe that this is where a supportive community can be born and this new identity as a mother can flourish. I look forward to seeing this unfold in the Mothering Your Mind group and in our 1-1 sessions.

For the past decade I have supported women and their children to manage and overcome depressive symptoms, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, and a variety of other life challenges. I have a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), a Trauma Treatment Certificate, and I’m a Registered Social Worker. I come to the table with a kind heart, a very compassionate and focused mind, but I also bring a sense of honesty and trust into everything I do. My counselling style incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused treatments. I have offered 1-1 counselling sessions over the years, as well as facilitated over ten different types of treatment groups to men, women, and their families. I believe in the power of mindfulness, grounding, and yoga, as tools for good mental health and wellness. I’m currently studying to become a certified yoga instructor. However, what I am most proud of above all else, are the two little girls who call me Mom. This journey has not been an easy one, but they say the most meaningful things in life are not. I am beaming with a rich light of energy, excitement, and love, with simply knowing that I will have the privilege to walk alongside you on your journey as a Mom.

Hayley MacRae, ECE, BA., Full Spectrum Doula, Childbirth Educator

Untitled design.png

My journey into birth work was a transformative experience; after combating postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety with my firstborn, I began spending all of my waking moments trying to learn about motherhood, it’s diverse range of experiences, and it’s learning curves. I became fascinated by the profound transition into motherhood and amazed by the lack of support and awareness mothers receive when it comes to their brand-new journey. Before I became a mother, I completed an Honours degree in childhood and social institutions, with a certificate in advocacy and minor in psychology. I have worked in children’s care sectors for over ten years and am a registered early childhood educator. My passion for education and supporting the family in a holistic manner is part of what drove me to become a full spectrum doula and perinatal educator after my second child was born in 2020. I am well-versed in topics from pregnancy up until late childhood! It is with this combination of knowledge and passion that I strive to offer fresh and new ways to support mothers and families in their journey, meeting them right where they are.

Olivia Grigg, BSW/RSW (Registered Social Worker)

Since becoming a mother five years ago I have learned so much about the importance of having consistent mental health support in place through pregnancy and the transition into parenthood. I strongly believe that every person making the step into parenthood deserves a safe space and warm connection to a counsellor who can listen to their worries, challenges and joys of having a new child. Some of my main areas of skill include coping with a difficult pregnancy, birth trauma, relationship challenges in the postpartum period and family adjustments. I also am very interested in spirituality and how this affects parenting choices, as well as learning new ways to parent that are true to you and what your beliefs are. In our sessions you can expect a warm, compassionate and gentle approach in our work together. I like to focus on connecting the mind and body together by checking in about where you may be storing stress in your body. My approach to counselling is strengths-based, motivational and collaborative. Within your comfort level I offer moments to connect with your inner child and learning how to parent from a grounded place by using psychosomatic techniques in each session. I would be honoured to work with you in your journey to finding home within yourself.

Alaina Clunas, RN (BScN) , IBCLC

Since graduating University in 2007, I have been working as an RN (BScN) mainly in a Neonatal Instensive Care Unit, also with experience in Labour & Delivery, and Postpartum care. In 2011, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have firsthand knowledge of routine hospital practices and how to overcome the barriers to breastfeeding that are often involved. I have also supported many families who chose home births.

I am passionate about empowering families with knowledge, support and practical suggestions to overcome their barriers for the most positive client experience. I provide realistic support and am understanding that every family needs an individual plan. At times I will encourage families to access other community resources to assist with their breastfeeding goals, recognizing that a holistic approach is important. I am experienced in providing breastfeeding support from birth to the older infant, with expertise in early and late preterm infants. I would also encourage follow up care until a family’s breastfeeding goals are met.

After having my own child, I recognized the truth more than ever to the phrase, “it takes a village to raise a child.” Unfortunately, our culture doesn’t seem to support parents through this passage, and I at times felt like asking, “where is my village?” I understand the need more than ever for breastfeeding support as it can feel like the foundation of raising strong, healthy families. I hope to help you on your journey to making breastfeeding a positive experience and to enjoying your baby.

Heidi Reynolds, IBCLC

Since becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2012, I have been passionate about working with families in the perinatal period! Having a baby is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding times in a person’s life, but it can also be one of the most overwhelming, especially when faced with infant feeding challenges. My own journey as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) began after the birth of my first child, Hudson, who was born with a significant tongue-tie. Hudson and I faced many breastfeeding challenges but I was lucky to have received the support of a couple amazingly talented IBCLCs. After overcoming these challenges, I felt called to shift the focus of my career to work with families experiencing difficulties with breast/chest-feeding. I have since helped hundreds of parents and babies to navigate all sorts of infant feeding challenges and have also gone on to breastfeed two more children of my own!

Having worked through the experience of tethered oral tissues (TOTS), aka tongue and lip ties, with two of my three kids, I have taken a special interest in TOTs as an IBCLC. I have attended specialized trainings related to working with infants with TOTs and have gained some very valuable expertise in working with these babies. Whether your baby may have TOTs or not, as an IBCLC, I will use my skills, knowledge, and experience to help you and your baby to overcome whatever feeding struggles you may be facing.

I aim to provide a safe(r) space in which clients and families can be wholly and authentically themselves.
